An Post announces February price increases as Irish letter volumes fall

An Post announced in January that Ireland’s domestic stamp price would rise by 20 cents to €1.85 from 3 February. New rates were also set for European, United Kingdom and rest-of-world mail.

The operator cited falling letter volumes and rising costs while maintaining its national delivery commitment. Rate changes affect everyday users, dealers sending purchases and collectors preparing correctly franked covers.

The interval between announcement and implementation creates a short postal-history transition. Collectors should preserve dated commercial mail showing old and new rates and avoid manufacturing combinations that do not reflect genuine service use.
