India Post releases four Tirumala landmark special covers at TIRUPEX-2026

India Post released four special postal covers featuring major Tirumala landmarks at TIRUPEX-2026, the district-level philatelic exhibition held in Tirupati on 2 September 2026. The subjects are Ananda Nilayam, Srivari Padalu, Japali Theertham and Akasa Ganga Theertham, linking the exhibition directly with the religious, cultural and landscape heritage of Tirumala.

The covers were unveiled by Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams Additional Executive Officer Ch. Venkaiah Chowdary, Tirupati Urban Development Authority Chairman C. Divakar Reddy and Kurnool Region Postmaster General Vennam Upender. The release took place during TIRUPEX-2026, which was organised as a district-level philatelic exhibition and included outreach intended to introduce students and younger visitors to stamp collecting and postal heritage.

Each of the four subjects has a distinct place in Tirumala’s identity. Ananda Nilayam is closely associated with the main shrine of Lord Venkateswara, while Srivari Padalu, Japali Theertham and Akasa Ganga Theertham are recognised pilgrimage and heritage locations in the Tirumala hills.
