Qatar exhibits win five medals at Bandung 2026 Asian Stamp Exhibition

The Qatar Philatelic and Numismatic Center announced a strong competitive result at the Bandung 2026 Asian Stamp Exhibition, with all five exhibits entered by the centre receiving medals. The results were reported on 30 August while the exhibition was still under way in Bandung, Indonesia, providing a material update to Qatar’s previously announced participation in the FIAP-supported event.

The centre’s exhibit on the first regular stamps of Qatar received a gold medal, while its study of the postal history of Kuwait received a large gold medal. Three further exhibits — covering the postal history of Oman, the history of Aden stamps, and Second World War detained mail involving the United States and Switzerland — also received gold medals. The results therefore span traditional stamp study, regional postal history and wartime mail.

The medal announcement is significant because it converts an earlier participation story into a documented competitive result. Before the exhibition, Qatar had announced that the five exhibits would be shown in Bandung. The 30 August report confirmed how the international jury evaluated them, making the medal information a genuine new factual development rather than a repetition of the event schedule.

Bandung 2026 brought together exhibitors from across Asia and other participating countries under the Federation of Inter-Asian Philately framework. Competitive results from exhibitions of this level are closely followed because they can affect an exhibit’s future eligibility, standing and development toward higher-level international competition.
