Chunghwa Post publishes fourth-quarter programme led by PHILATAIPEI issues

Chunghwa Post has updated its 2026 stamp programme with five fourth-quarter releases, including three products scheduled for the opening phase of the PHILATAIPEI 2026 World Stamp Championship Exhibition. The official schedule was current on 15 August and gives issue names, formats, denominations and dates. It provides collectors with a reliable framework for planning the final months of the year while leaving design and detailed production specifications for later announcements.

The quarter begins on 29 October with Forest Tourism Postage Stamps (I), a set of four special stamps, each denominated NT$8. On 20 November, Chunghwa Post plans a two-stamp PHILATAIPEI commemorative issue with NT$17 and NT$28 values, accompanied by a NT$45 souvenir sheet. The same date will bring a separate NT$70 exhibition souvenir sheet titled Cats and Bamboo Bring Joy and Peace and an NT$80 Pokémon souvenir sheet.

The programme concludes on 1 December with the 2026 New Year’s Greeting issue. That release is scheduled as two stamps denominated NT$6 and NT$13 plus a NT$15 souvenir sheet. The mixture of commemorative stamps, ordinary special stamps and souvenir sheets matters for catalogue structure: the three products sharing 20 November are separate issues with different titles, values and likely product identities, even though they are connected by the exhibition date.

PHILATAIPEI is a World Stamp Championship Exhibition and is expected to focus international collector attention on the 20 November releases. The commemorative set records the exhibition itself, whereas Cats and Bamboo and Pokémon use distinct thematic subjects. Treating all three as one undifferentiated exhibition issue would obscure their separate denominations and formats. The schedule also shows how a postal administration can use a major show both for institutional commemoration and broader thematic releases.

For thematic collectors, the quarter spans forests and tourism, international philately, cats, bamboo, popular culture and New Year customs. The Pokémon sheet is likely to attract buyers outside traditional philately, while the exhibition commemorative may be more important to show specialists and postal historians. Complete documentation should include issue brochures, full sheets, souvenir sheets, first-day covers and dated commercial use where available.

The schedule establishes the dates and basic formats but does not yet supply designers, printers, dimensions, perforations, paper, quantities or first-day postmarks. Those details require the individual issue announcements. Collectors should regard the programme as confirmed planning information while allowing for formally announced changes. The shared 20 November date deserves particular attention because ordering limits, venue stock and servicing arrangements may differ among the three products. The three 20 November products should also be tracked separately in ordering systems because a customer may seek the exhibition commemorative set without the thematic souvenir sheets, or vice versa. Where product names are translated, denominations and official issue titles provide stronger identifiers than shortened English descriptions. Later first-day material may carry a common exhibition date while using different stamps and cancellation layouts, so cover images should be connected to the exact product used. Full sales figures, if released, could also show whether popular-culture demand differed from traditional exhibition demand.
