Saudi Post issues six-stamp National Day sheet and commemorative postcard

Saudi Post | SPL has issued a new commemorative stamp sheet and postcard for Saudi National Day, presenting the 2026 celebration through six designs centred on national identity, cultural heritage and the Kingdom’s continuing development. The official announcement was published on 27 September and lists the stamps at SAR 3 each and the accompanying postcard at SAR 5.

The sheet contains six square stamps arranged in two rows of three. Each stamp carries the Saudi National Day identity and the Arabic slogan commonly rendered as “Our Pride Is in Our Nature,” together with the year 2026 and its Hijri equivalent, 1448. The designs use a dark green ground, patterned borders and bright accent colours, giving the issue a unified appearance while allowing each subject to stand on its own. Saudi Post’s artwork identifies the individual stamp size as 40 by 40 millimetres.

Rather than depicting a single monument or portrait, the six designs build a broader picture of Saudi character. One stamp uses the palm tree as an emblem of the land and its growth. Another centres on the dallah, the traditional Arabic coffee pot associated with hospitality and welcome. A third features an incense burner, recalling customs of generosity, fragrance and the reception of guests. Together, these designs translate familiar elements of everyday cultural practice into compact postal symbols.

The remaining stamps extend the theme from heritage to collective ambition. A circular geometric composition evokes vision and forward movement; another combines visual references to progress, technology and national achievement; and the final design uses a stylised Saudi landscape in vivid magenta and green. Short Arabic phrases beneath the illustrations connect the subjects with pride in authenticity, generosity, existence, vision, courage and determination. The result is a set that treats national identity as a combination of inherited traditions, social values and future-facing confidence.

The sheet also carries the marks of Saudi Post | SPL and the General Entertainment Authority, linking the postal release with the wider National Day programme. A restrained palette of deep green, turquoise, purple, blue and gold runs across the issue, while the borders draw on textile-like geometric ornament. Collectors can therefore approach the release both as a National Day commemorative and as a thematic group covering traditional objects, hospitality, palms, cultural patterns, landscape and national development.

Saudi Post says the release commemorates the Kingdom’s journey from unification under King Abdulaziz bin Abdulrahman Al Saud through subsequent growth under King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. The official account also connects the issue with the goals and achievements of Saudi Vision 2030. In philatelic terms, that makes the set a contemporary statement of state identity rather than a simple anniversary inscription: its designs deliberately link historical foundation, living traditions and the country’s programme of transformation.

The SAR 3 denomination gives each stamp a clear postal face value, while the six-design format creates several collecting possibilities. Specialists may seek the intact sheet, individual designs, multiples showing adjacent motifs and genuinely postally used examples. The separately priced SAR 5 postcard adds a postal-stationery component to the release and may be collected alongside the stamps, National Day cancellations and other material produced for the 2026 observance. Complete sets on cover could be especially useful for documenting how the issue entered normal postal circulation.

National Day has become a recurring subject in Saudi Arabia’s modern stamp programme, but the changing annual identity and visual language give each edition its own place in a chronological collection. The 2026 sheet is particularly distinctive for presenting six complementary interpretations of national pride instead
